Google has launched a new small-business hub inside the Gemini app for branding, marketing, finance analysis and connected-app workflows. The business landing page, marketing and finance skills, and new connections are rolling out globally over the coming days, so the features may not appear in every account immediately.[1]
Quick setup checklist
- Open the Gemini app and look for the new business landing page.
- Add only the business context needed for the task: website, approved brand kit, fonts, colors and tone guide.
- Open Settings → Connected Apps and connect one service at a time.
- Test a low-risk read-only task before allowing Gemini to create, edit or send anything.
- Review every output for factual accuracy, brand fit and confidential information.
- Keep payments, legal decisions, tax filings and final financial decisions under human control.
Google says the new hub is designed to bring brand building, financial analysis and customer insights into one place. It can connect with Google Business Profile, Google Ads and Google Workspace, plus services including Adobe, Canva, Dropbox, Shopify, Wix, Zoho and Xero.[1]
What is new in Gemini for small businesses?
1. A dedicated business workspace
The new landing page is intended as a central starting point for everyday business tasks rather than a collection of disconnected chats. Google specifically highlights building a brand, analyzing finances and understanding customer insights.[1]
2. Reusable brand style
A business can provide its website, brand kit, fonts or color palette. Gemini can then retain that visual style and use it when producing campaign or product-launch assets, reducing the need to attach the same guidance repeatedly.[1]
This is useful for first drafts, but it does not replace a brand review. Check logos, product details, spelling, image rights and required disclaimers before publishing any generated asset.
3. Finance analysis from mixed files
Google says Gemini can turn spreadsheets, receipts and purchase records into financial graphics and interactive models.[1] Treat these as working analyses, not audited accounts. Reconcile totals against the original records and ask an accountant to review tax, compliance or reporting decisions.
4. More connected business apps
Connected-app support is not identical for every user. Google’s availability table says access can vary by account type, age, location, language, device and Gemini mode.[2] For example, Google Ads currently requires a personal Google Account, age 18+, and English; Google Business Profile is listed for personal accounts on the web app and excludes the European Economic Area and United Kingdom.[2]
If a named app does not appear, do not assume the connection is broken. Check Google’s current availability table and your account type first.[2]
A safe 15-minute setup
Step 1: Define a minimum brand brief
Prepare a short file containing:
- business name and one-sentence offer
- target customer
- approved tone of voice
- logo and color codes
- words or claims the business must not use
- approved contact details and calls to action
Avoid uploading passwords, customer lists, private contracts, unpublished financial records or identity documents just to establish a visual style.
Step 2: Connect one app, not everything
Start with the app that supports the clearest workflow. A local business might begin with Google Business Profile; an ecommerce business might test Shopify or Canva; a service company might begin with Workspace.
Google says an eligible user can ask Gemini to perform an action in an app by name or type @[app name]; Gemini then offers the connection flow if the app is available. Apps can also be reviewed in Connected Apps settings and third-party accounts can be unlinked later.[2]
Step 3: Run a read-only test
Good first tests include:
- summarize last month’s customer feedback without sending replies
- identify repeated questions in an approved document
- group expenses from a duplicate spreadsheet
- draft three social concepts without publishing them
- review a product-description export without editing the store
Step 4: Verify before action
Check names, dates, prices, totals, links and claims against the source material. Do not let a polished chart or fluent answer substitute for reconciliation.
Step 5: Review privacy settings
Google says Gemini information can include prompts, uploaded files and information from Connected Apps. Its privacy notice also warns users not to enter confidential information they would not want a reviewer to see or Google to use to improve services.[3]
Gemini access to apps and data can be managed in Connected Apps settings, while Gemini activity can be reviewed or deleted separately.[3] Third-party services process exchanged data under their own privacy policies, so review both Google’s terms and the connected provider’s terms before using customer or financial data.[3]
12 copy-and-paste prompts for small businesses
Replace every item in brackets before using these prompts.
Brand brief
Using only the approved information below, create a one-page brand brief for [business]. Include audience, value proposition, tone, three message pillars, approved proof points and a “do not claim” list. Flag missing information instead of inventing it. [Paste approved information]
Brand consistency check
Compare this draft with the attached brand guide. List deviations in colors, fonts, tone, terminology and claims. Do not rewrite yet. Return a correction checklist ranked by severity.
Product launch plan
Build a 14-day launch plan for [product] aimed at [audience]. Include the asset, channel, owner, deadline, call to action and measurement for each day. Use only these confirmed product facts: [facts]. Mark every unsupported claim for removal.
Google Business Profile post
Draft three Google Business Profile posts for [offer/event]. Keep each concise, local and factual. Use this location, date, price and booking link exactly as supplied: [details]. Do not add urgency, discounts or guarantees that are not stated.
Review-response drafts
Draft individual replies to these customer reviews. Thank the reviewer, address the specific point and avoid admitting liability or revealing private information. Escalate any safety, legal, refund or discrimination issue instead of drafting a final reply. [Reviews]
Customer-feedback themes
Analyze this anonymized feedback. Group repeated themes, count mentions, separate praise from problems, and quote short examples. Do not infer customer identity or intent. End with the three highest-impact improvements.
Expense categorization
Categorize these transactions using the supplied chart of accounts. Preserve every amount and date exactly. Put uncertain items in “Needs review” with a reason. Reconcile the categorized total to the source total and show any difference.
Cash-flow scenarios
Using the attached duplicate worksheet, create conservative, base and optimistic 90-day cash-flow scenarios. State every assumption, keep the original data unchanged, and flag missing receivables, payables or recurring costs. This is planning support, not accounting or tax advice.
Product descriptions
Draft five product descriptions using only the supplied specifications. Lead with the customer use case, then list verified features, dimensions, care instructions and delivery limits. Do not invent materials, certifications, performance claims or warranties.
FAQ builder
Turn these support tickets into an answer-first FAQ. Merge duplicates, preserve policy wording exactly, and label any question that cannot be answered from the supplied documents. Do not create a policy.
Weekly marketing review
Review this week’s campaign export. Report spend, conversions, cost per conversion and change versus the prior period. Separate observed data from hypotheses. Suggest three tests, but do not change budgets or publish campaigns.
Local visibility audit
Review the supplied website and Google Business Profile export for inconsistent business name, address, phone, hours, categories and service descriptions. Return a field-by-field correction list. Do not assume missing values.
Recommended approval rules
Use three levels of control:
- Low risk: brainstorming, formatting, summarizing public or approved internal material. Human review before publishing.
- Medium risk: customer-reply drafts, product copy, campaign recommendations and spreadsheet analysis. Named owner must verify source data and approve the result.
- High risk: payments, contracts, refunds, tax work, regulated claims, account permissions or publishing under the company name. Keep final action with an authorized person.
Google itself cautions that Gemini can make mistakes, including while taking actions or sharing data with third parties, and recommends supervising browsing and tasks closely.[3]
Availability and rollout
Google announced the update on October 20, 2026 and says the business landing page, marketing and finance skills, and new connected apps are beginning to roll out globally over the following days for Gemini app users.[1] A missing feature may therefore reflect staged rollout, region, language, device, account type or mode rather than an account fault.[1][2]
Check the official Connected Apps table before designing a workflow around a specific integration.[2]
Frequently asked questions
Is the Gemini business hub available now?
The rollout has started, but Google says it will occur over the coming days. Some accounts may receive it later than others.[1]
Is it only for paid Gemini users?
Google’s announcement says the new tools are rolling out for all Gemini app users, but individual connected apps can still have their own account, region, language, age, device or subscription requirements.[1][2]
Can Gemini connect to Google Business Profile and Google Ads?
Google lists both services among the connections, but eligibility differs. Its current table lists Google Ads for personal Google Accounts in English and Google Business Profile for eligible personal accounts through the Gemini web app, with regional and language restrictions.[1][2]
Should I upload bookkeeping files?
Use the minimum data necessary, preferably a duplicate or redacted file. Reconcile every result and keep accounting, tax and payment decisions under qualified human review. Google advises users not to enter confidential information they would not want reviewed or used to improve services.[3]
Can Gemini publish or send content automatically?
Capabilities depend on the connected app and account. Even when an action is supported, use a draft-review-approve workflow and supervise consequential tasks because Google warns that Gemini can make mistakes.[2][3]
Where can I disconnect an app?
Review and manage access in Gemini’s Connected Apps settings. Google also says linked third-party accounts can be unlinked.[2][3]
