Pasban Remittance Rewards: Eligibility, Banks & First Draw

Direct answer: Pakistan’s Pasban Remittance Rewards Scheme starts on October 1, 2026. A beneficiary in Pakistan can qualify automatically for the first quarterly draw by receiving at least the equivalent of USD 100 into the same eligible account or wallet in each of October, November and December 2026. There is no application, entry fee, ticket purchase or minimum-balance requirement. The first draw is scheduled for January 15, 2027.[1][2]

First-draw checklist

  • Use one of the 26 participating banks listed below.
  • Have the remittance credited to a personal PKR account or eligible wallet—not paid in cash over the counter.
  • Receive at least USD 100 equivalent in October 2026.
  • Repeat in November and December 2026 in the same account.
  • Keep the account active and contact details current.
  • Never pay anyone to enter or release a prize.

Who qualifies?

The scheme is for the beneficiary receiving a home remittance in Pakistan, not the person sending it from abroad. The money must arrive through a formal remittance channel and be credited to a personal account or qualifying wallet at a participating bank. Personal single and joint accounts can qualify. Company accounts, cash-over-counter collections and Roshan Digital Account inflows do not qualify.[2][3]

Monthly minimum USD 100 equivalent in each of all three months
Where money must arrive Same eligible personal account or wallet
Registration None; participation is automatic
Participation cost Free
First draw date January 15, 2027

Quick eligibility examples

Remittances received Qualifies? Reason
$100 in October, $100 in November, $100 in December Yes Monthly minimum met for three consecutive months
$300 in October, $0 in November, $300 in December No November does not meet the monthly minimum
$90 in each of the three months No Each month is below $100
$100 each month, collected as cash over the counter No Funds must be credited to an eligible account or wallet
$100 each month into a Roshan Digital Account No RDA inflows are excluded

The USD test uses the relevant dollar equivalent for the remittance. Ask the receiving bank if a transaction is close to the threshold or has not generated a token; the bank’s transaction classification and scheme record determine eligibility.[3]

How draw tokens are calculated

Eligible beneficiaries receive electronic, non-transferable draw tokens based on qualifying remittance transactions. The official scheme page says one entry is generated per USD 100, rounded to the nearest USD 100: for example, USD 260 earns three entries and USD 1,000 earns ten. There is no stated upper cap. Tokens belong to the receiving account and are valid only for that quarter’s draw.[2]

Important: Receiving a larger amount in one month does not repair a missing month. You must still meet the USD 100 minimum in each of the quarter’s three months.

Prize amounts per quarterly draw

Prize tier Amount per winner Number of winners
First prize Rs100 million 1
Second prize Rs25 million 20
Third prize Rs10 million 100
Fourth prize Rs1 million 2,400
Total Rs4 billion 2,521

SBP says the banking industry funds the scheme and plans Rs16 billion in annual prizes. The first prize is drawn across all eligible regions. Other prize tiers are regionally allocated, including a 50% allocation to GCC-origin remittances for the initial scheme structure.[1]

What does not qualify?

  • Cash paid to the recipient over a bank counter.
  • Roshan Digital Account or foreign-currency account inflows.
  • Company, firm, trust or other non-personal accounts.
  • Payments for goods, services, trade, property or investment.
  • Transfers between accounts belonging to the same person.
  • Reversed, cancelled, returned, duplicated or fraudulent transactions.
  • Remittances credited through a bank that is not participating.

Do not split or structure remittances simply to manufacture entries. The official terms allow suspicious or manipulated activity to be treated as ineligible.[3]

How winners are contacted and paid

The official scheme page says the beneficiary’s bank will contact a selected winner and that results will also be announced publicly without personal details. After verification, the prize is credited in Pakistani rupees to the eligible account; applicable tax is deducted as required by law. An account can win only one prize in a draw but may qualify again in a later quarter.[2]

Scam warning

The scheme is free and automatic. Your bank, PBA, 1LINK or SBP will not need a payment, ticket purchase, PIN or password to release a prize. Treat any such request as fraud and contact your bank through its official number or app.[2]

What to do before October 1

  1. Confirm that the beneficiary has an active personal PKR account or qualifying wallet at a participating bank.
  2. Update the beneficiary’s mobile number and identity records with the bank.
  3. Use a regulated bank, exchange company or licensed money-transfer operator.
  4. Make sure each transfer is credited into the chosen account rather than collected in cash.
  5. Meet the minimum in every month; do not rely on one large transfer.
  6. Keep transaction references and bank messages until the draw is completed.
  7. Contact the receiving bank first if expected tokens or winner communication do not appear.
