Because each August rate is AED 0.20 per litre above July, the increase is easy to calculate: multiply the litres purchased by AED 0.20. A 50-litre fill costs AED 10 more; 60 litres costs AED 12 more; and 75 litres costs AED 15 more.

How to use the calculator

  1. Select the grade recommended in your vehicle’s manual or fuel-door label.
  2. Enter the number of litres you expect to buy—not necessarily the tank’s total capacity.
  3. Read the estimated August bill and the increase compared with July.

Do not choose a lower octane grade solely to save money. Use the minimum octane specified by the vehicle manufacturer. Never put diesel into a petrol vehicle or petrol into a diesel vehicle.
