The UAE Government portal explains that fuel prices are linked to global prices and reviewed monthly by a committee representing the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and Ministry of Finance.

Because each August rate is AED 0.20 per litre above July, the increase is easy to calculate: multiply the litres purchased by AED 0.20. A 50-litre fill costs AED 10 more; 60 litres costs AED 12 more; and 75 litres costs AED 15 more.

- Read the estimated August bill and the increase compared with July.
Do not choose a lower octane grade solely to save money. Use the minimum octane specified by the vehicle manufacturer. Never put diesel into a petrol vehicle or petrol into a diesel vehicle.
