FLEX Global Pakistan applications for the 2027–28 academic year are open from November 1 to November 10, 2026. Eligible Pakistani students can apply online for a merit-based U.S. high-school exchange year. The program covers major costs, but applicants should not call it “zero cost”: passport expenses, personal costs beyond the stipend, excess baggage, and internet/data plans are not covered.[1][4][6]
Apply now: Use the official FLEX Global Pakistan application page. Do not wait until the final day because you must register, verify your email, complete the form, and upload readable documents.[6]
Quick eligibility checker
You should apply only if every required statement below is true:
- Your birth date is between August 15, 2010 and August 15, 2012.[1][5]
- You are currently enrolled in Grade 9 or 10, or O Level 9 or 10, at a secondary school in Pakistan.[1][5]
- You earned at least 60% overall in each of the 2024–25 and 2025–26 academic years, at least 60% in English, mathematics, and science, and had no failing grades in those two years.[5]
- You have studied English and can demonstrate English ability during selection.[1][5]
- You meet U.S. visa eligibility requirements.[1][5]
- You are a Pakistani citizen and can obtain an international passport.[1][5]
The competition is merit-based, offered at no application cost to eligible students, and permits one application per recruitment cycle.[5]
Documents to prepare before applying
Create clear scans or photos of these items:
- A passport-size photo taken within the last six months, no larger than 2 MB.[1]
- A NADRA birth certificate or B-Form, no larger than 3 MB.[1]
- Your school identity card, if available; the embassy lists this as optional.[1]
- Your complete 2025–26 mark sheet, including every page and the title page.[1]
- Your complete 2024–25 mark sheet, including every page and the title page.[1]
- Your final mock result if you study under Cambridge Assessment International Education.[1][6]
Before uploading, check that names, dates, marks, stamps, and page edges are readable. Do not submit cropped or incomplete mark sheets.
How to apply online
1. Open the official application page
Go to flexglobalpakistan.org/apply. The local FLEX Global Pakistan site confirms that the application is completed entirely online.[6]
2. Register with an email address you can access
The application process starts with email registration and verification. After verification, the system sends the online application link to that email address.[1][6]
3. Complete every section carefully
Enter details exactly as they appear on your school and identity documents. Review the birth-date range, grade, academic record, citizenship, and passport eligibility before continuing.
4. Upload the required documents
Upload complete, readable files in the requested sections. Check the photo and B-Form/birth-certificate file-size limits before submission.[1]
5. Submit and keep the confirmation email
The process is electronic; the embassy says paper documents are not required at this stage. After submission, the system sends a confirmation email. Save that email and a copy or screenshots of your completed application.[1]
What the program covers
The U.S. Embassy’s program page lists:
- round-trip domestic and international travel;
- a monthly stipend for social activities and necessary personal supplies;
- placement with a screened U.S. host family for one academic year;
- enrollment in a U.S. secondary school;
- pre-program and re-entry orientation;
- local program activities; and
- medical insurance, excluding pre-existing conditions and dental care.[1]
Costs you may still need to pay
The program does not cover:
- the cost of obtaining an international passport;
- personal expenses beyond the monthly stipend;
- excess baggage; or
- internet and mobile-data plans.[1]
Plan for those items rather than assuming every expense is included.
How selection works
The official program description says students compete through English testing, proctored essays, interviews, and a complete application. Selection is based on merit and readiness for a year-long exchange, with English proficiency treated as one factor rather than the only deciding factor.[1][4]
Finalists must pass a medical fitness evaluation. Selected students attend pre-departure orientation in June or July, travel to the United States in August, and return the following May or June on the assigned program end date.[4]
