Meta’s new Seller app is a free, dedicated iPhone app for Facebook Marketplace sellers. It brings listings, buyer messages, inventory actions, and performance data into one workspace. At launch, Meta says it is available only to people aged 18 or older in the United States; Android is still described as being in testing.
Quick download and setup
- On an iPhone, open the official Seller, a Facebook app listing on Apple’s App Store.
- Confirm the developer is Meta Platforms, Inc., then install the free app.
- Sign in with the Facebook account you use for Marketplace.
- Review the synced listings, buyer conversations, ratings, and selling history.
- Check the Home dashboard for buyers awaiting replies, listings to reprice, and items that need shipping.
Outside the US, on Android, or under 18? The official launch announcement does not make the standalone app available to you yet. Continue selling through Marketplace in the regular Facebook app. Do not download an unofficial APK or give your Facebook password to a third-party “early access” site.

What the Facebook Seller app can do
1. Create a listing with Meta AI
Upload item photos and Meta AI can draft the title, description, suggested price, and category. Treat these fields as a starting point: inspect the item yourself and correct the AI draft before publishing. Do not let an inferred brand, model, condition, compatibility claim, or defect become part of the listing unless you have verified it.
2. Keep Marketplace messages separate
The dedicated buyer inbox separates Marketplace conversations from personal chats. It is designed to show which buyers need a response so frequent sellers can follow up faster.
3. Manage inventory in bulk
The App Store description says sellers can reprice, relist, or delete multiple items and create multiple listings at once. That makes the app more useful for repeat sellers than the single-listing workflow in the main Facebook app.
4. Track listing performance
Seller reports views, saves, and messages for listings. It also provides pricing recommendations and relisting suggestions based on selling activity. These are decision aids—not a promise that an item will sell or that a recommended price is correct.
5. Sync with Facebook Marketplace
Your existing Marketplace listings, messages, ratings, and selling history carry over when you sign in. A listing created or edited in Seller automatically appears on Facebook Marketplace, and changes remain synchronized.
First-listing checklist
- Use your own clear photos. Photograph the actual item, including labels, wear, and defects.
- Check the AI-generated title. Confirm the brand, model, size, color, and product type.
- Rewrite vague copy. State the item’s condition, what is included, known defects, and pickup or shipping terms.
- Research the price. Compare similar local listings and sold prices where available; do not rely only on an automated suggestion.
- Choose the correct category. A wrong AI-selected category can make the listing harder to find.
- Remove private information. Check photos for addresses, serial numbers, faces, license plates, and documents.
- Preview before publishing. Make sure no unsupported warranty, authenticity, safety, or compatibility claim slipped into the draft.
Safe selling checklist
- Keep buyer communication in the official Seller or Facebook experience where possible.
- Never share your Facebook password, one-time login code, recovery code, or payment PIN.
- Be suspicious of links asking you to “upgrade” or “verify” Seller outside official Meta, Facebook, Apple, or Google domains.
- Confirm payment in your own payment account; do not trust a screenshot or email alone.
- Use a safe public meeting place for local sales and follow Facebook’s commerce policies.
- Do not download unofficial Android packages while rollout is limited.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Facebook Seller app real?
Yes. Meta announced Seller on July 24, 2026, and the US App Store listing identifies Meta Platforms, Inc. as the developer.
Is Seller the same as Meta Business Suite?
No. Seller is purpose-built for individual Facebook Marketplace selling. Meta Business Suite is a broader tool for managing business presences, content, and messages across Meta products.
Can I use Seller on Android?
Meta’s launch announcement says Android testing is underway, so access is not part of the broad initial release. A Google Play listing may be visible in some locations or test cohorts, but that does not override Meta’s stated launch restriction. Use only the official listing from Meta Platforms, Inc. if access becomes available.
Do I need to recreate my Marketplace listings?
No. Meta says existing listings, messages, ratings, and selling history carry over when you sign in with the same Facebook account.
Will listings made in Seller appear on Marketplace?
Yes. Meta says listings created or edited in Seller automatically appear on Facebook Marketplace and remain in sync.
Can I keep selling without installing Seller?
Yes. Seller is optional; Marketplace selling remains available in the regular Facebook app.
Why can’t I download the app?
At launch, eligibility is restricted to US users aged 18 or older on iPhone. Your App Store country, device, age, Facebook Marketplace eligibility, or phased availability may prevent installation or access.
